Cellulase, from Trichoderma viride. Multienzymatic system (Beldman et al. 1985) with Cellulase-, a-Amylase-, Hemicellulase-, Pectinase- and Protease-activity. Suitable for protoplast isolation within a short time. Cellulase is often used in combination with Macerozym (Potrykus & Shillito 1986). In contrast to Cellulase R-10, Cellulase RS has a larger spectrum of activity concerning the cell wall degradation. This makes Cellulase RS suitable for a larger amount of plant species.

Enzyme activity: > 16,000 U/g

The activity gets inhibited by Glucose, Cellobiose and Hg2+. Slightly inhibition occurs by Mn+, Ag2+, Zn2+ und Cu2+.

Stability of stock solutions: Stable for 24 h at 4 °C (pH 5-7); complete Degradation at 80 °C after 10-15 min.
